passwordRules

Returns the rules a new password must meet. Does not require authentication.

Business Rules​

  • The rules apply wherever a password is set: sign up, accepting an invitation, and resetting a forgotten password.
  • Minimum length, character mix, and name restrictions are configurable system settings.
  • Maximum character length and UTF-8 byte size are fixed limits.
  • Clients must read the rules here and check both character length and UTF-8 byte size.
  • Existing passwords keep working until they are changed.

  • None.

Permissions Required​

  • None. Sign up, invitation, and reset forms run before the user has a session.
